In 2021 and 2022, amidst the pandemic, four sets of workshops were conducted online and onsite for seniors to learn to tell stories from their lives. Their stories were audio-recorded and later showcased at the Times of Your Life 2022 exhibition and on YouTube. Building on this, there is a growing sense that we should continue the journey of sharing our stories—evolving into regular gatherings, onsite and online, where seniors come together to tell stories, guided and supported by professional oral storytellers Swee Yean, Mabel Lee, and Anamika Bhati.

Treasures of the Heart was a digital arts community project by the National Arts Council, supported by TOUCH Community Services. In 2020, seniors—many of whom were homebound and unfamiliar with Zoom—learned to engage online, tell their personal stories, and be heard. With the guidance of Swee Yean & her team of facilitators, their stories were also presented visually. By sharing these stories digitally with family, friends, and neighbours, seniors strengthened connections, enhanced their emotional health, and improved their overall well-being.
Moments That Shaped Me
Think about a story — big or small — from your life that made a lasting impact. It could be about a person who influenced you, a decision you made, or a moment that changed your perspective.
