Seniors have lots of experiences and in our group, we create a safe space for seniors to be continually storying, crafting their stories, and learning to tell it to an audience in an engaging way. Our gatherings are free and we meet online as well as face-to-face.
About the facilitators
Wong Swee Yean, a professional storyteller, conceptualized a series of workshops conducted at the library called "My Wealth of Stories" in 2021 & 2022. Swee Yean carries out person-centred perience with conducting workshops with seniors in the community, facilitating reminiscence and building community connectedness. Her team members, Mabel Lee and Anamika Bhati, are experienced storytellers and speech and drama trainers. Together, we use theatre games to build confidence in our participants.
After the workshops, some of our participants want to continue learning and storyting. From August 2022, we began to meet once a month.
