FIND MY VOICE: THe Art of Personal STorytelling

 "Find My Voice: The Art of Personal Storytelling For Young Adults" is a programme for post-secondary school pupils. 

The course leads young people to craft stories and prepare them to perform their own stories with confidence. 

The programme is carried out in a person-centred approach taking into account not just the cognitive aspect but also the personal, social and cultural dimensions of the participants. Through visualization exercises and improvisation drama games, they will gradually build the confidence to express themselves. 

In five 2-hour sessions, participants will learn the basics of the art of personal storytelling and finally deliver a personal story in the class. It is recommended that the class size be between 8 - 12 students.

Outline of the Workshop:

1) Finding a story to tell through story games/prompts

2) How to paint scenes with words

3) How to learn a story without memorizing

4) How to perform a story in front of peers

 Swee Yean has carried out workshops and performances with students from ITE West, ITE Central, Yishun Junior College, Millennia Institute and Singapore Polytechnic.
