Storytelling is Influence, Persuasion and Innovation.


When we tell stories for a purpose, we want to connect, engage and convince the other person about what we want to sell - either ourselves or our wares. A well-told personal story adds value to the persuasive speech that the eager NTU students from the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information each have to make. Upon Ms Shobi Pereira's invitation, I gave a talk on the art of storytelling on 18 October 2018. The students participated enthusiastically in the activities I gave them. 

This was a course organized by Asian Storytelling Network where the students from the Radio Club learnt that accurate pronunciation and clear articulation was important as DJs. They were amused by the phonetic symbols and had fun uncovering so many common mispronunciations of our English words.
